Australian Country Quilts is a family owned business. Our operations started in 1995 what began as a humble patchwork and pattern shop in Rockingham has now grown into a distribution centre for Retail outlets and Mail Order Service via our internet sites for home users.

Back in 1994 Kathleen took up a patchwork class in Tom Price, W.A for something to do in a new town.
Three weeks into the class the teacher moved out of town leaving the class to fend for themselves.
Needless to say the first quilt was a bit of a disaster colour wise, the straight line sewing seemed to be the easy part, she says.

It was then Kathleen began to design her own patchwork patterns finding many ladies would constantly ask for her designs and know how; Kathleen began to sell her patterns and teach classes. As a single mum her immediate family was a constant source of encouragement with all their help and understanding.

Wanting to extend her patterns and knowledge of computer technology Kathleen enrolled in IT and Small Business Management courses giving her a wider scope of skills to use within the business. Printing on fabric was her greatest desire so after much trial and error she did just that! Kathleen soon became the national distributor for solutions and printable fabric products to use for digital art & crafts.

Her expertise is in demand by large companies to refine printable fabric products and distribute these products worldwide. Although Kathleen and her family have been living in the Rockingham area for over 20 years she travels extensively with staff, sharing her knowledge by holding many workshops, seminars and private lessons at the various Craft & Quilt fairs in Australia & New Zealand and the USA.
